I saw the much anticipated show at Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood on 5/18/22. The theater itself was excellent with great sight lines and acoustics. Literally not a bad seat in the house. Nice friendly bar service! Our group had among the best seats in the VIP table area just to the right of center.
Among the band, my very high expectations were exceeded. These gents are defying aging. Great set list highlighting their entire history and musical and vocal arrangements that were airtight.
Michael McDonald was there to do his standard and he did them exceptionally well. But he was also the sole keyboardist in the band and he relished playing on Tom鈥檚 and Pat鈥檚 songs and vice versa. The band was so tight! Really stunning musicianship by the entire lineup but I especially loved how John McFee effortlessly moves from electric guitar to pedal steel to Dobro and finishing the night on violin on Black Water. The core 4 are all in their 70鈥檚 and are literally at their peak.
